Responsibilities
Tasks
- Assessing user needs to design and develop system architectures and specifications.
- Investigating, designing, developing, and integrating computer and telecommunications hardware, such as microprocessors, circuit boards, and semiconductor lasers.
- Creating and performing design verification simulations and prototype bench tests for components.
- Overseeing, inspecting, and offering design support during the manufacturing, installation, and implementation of computer and telecommunications hardware.
- Building and maintaining relationships with suppliers and clients.
- Potentially leading and coordinating teams of engineers, technologists, technicians, and drafters in the design and development of computer and telecommunications hardware.
- Operate a Programmable Machine Control (PMC) system
