SKILLS and KEY QUALIFICATIONS

• 1 Year to less than 2 years
• Physically fit to handle the job and require a lot of Bending, kneeling, crouching, work at heights, dusty, cold and hot temperatures, tight deadlines, work under pressure, hand-eye co-ordination, repetitive tasks, standing for extended hours, able to pick up weight up to 45 kg
• Need steel-toed safety boots, hard hat and safety glasses

Job Duties

• Erect and install scaffolding, falsework and other working platforms
• Clean and prepare surfaces
• Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners
• Mix plaster ingredients to desired consistency
• Install corner beads and wire mesh around beams to which plaster is to be applied
• Apply, level and smooth coats of plaster using trowel and broad knife, floats, brushes and spraying equipment
• Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints
• Fill joints, nail indentations, holes and cracks with joint compound using trowel and broad knife
• Finish corners and angles and create decorative designs in finish coat depending on the requirement.
• Cure freshly plastered surfaces
• Mould and install ornamental plaster panels, cornices and trim
• Smooth out excess compound and allow coat to dry
• Spray acoustic or texture materials over walls and ceilings
• Tape over joints using taping machine and embed tape in compound
