Drywall Installer and Finisher (NOC 73102)

Employer: Tussnad Inc.

Job Location:  Various locations in the Calgary, AB area.

Wage: $27-$35/hour (to be negotiated, based on experience; salary increases as per company policy)

Employment terms and conditions: Full-time, permanent, 40 hours/week, Overtime may be required, Morning, Day, Evening

Job requirements:

Language: English

Education: Not required

Experience: Minimum 3 years of related experience

Own Equipment/Tools: Steel-toed safety boots

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Handling heavy loads (Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)), Hand-eye co-ordination, Repetitive tasks, Work under pressure, Bending, crouching, kneeling, Manual dexterity, Physically demanding, Standing for extended periods

Duties:

• Measure, cut, fit, and install drywall sheets
• Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints
• Smooth out the excess compound and allow the coat to dry
• Position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists
• Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners
• Fill joints, nail indentations, holes, and cracks with joint compound using a trowel or broad knife
• Tape over joints using a taping machine and embed tape in compound
• Fabricate and install suspended metal ceiling grids and place them in panels to form acoustical and coffered ceilings
• Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages
• Clean and prepare surfaces
