Job Duties

  • Analyze blueprints, schematics, and work orders to determine the layout and installation method for projects.
  • Mark and measure surfaces to ensure precise alignment and accuracy during installation.
  • Prepare underlying surfaces by cleaning, repairing, and applying treatments as needed to ensure siding installation durability.
  • Set up scaffolding, ladders, and working platforms, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and creating a safe work environment.
  • Install siding on residential and commercial buildings, adhering to the project’s specifications and local building codes.
  • Cut, shape, and trim materials to fit around windows, doors, and corners using knives, shears, or portable power tools.
  • Secure siding materials to the building structure using nails, screws, or fasteners.
  • Seal joints and edges with caulking or other materials to protect against water infiltration and weather damage.
  • Inspect completed installations for accuracy and quality, ensuring they meet all project requirements and customer satisfaction.
  • Perform minor repairs and adjustments to ensure that installed siding is secure and visually appealing.
  • Conduct final quality checks to confirm that the installed siding aligns with project specifications and expectations.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized worksite, disposing of debris and ensuring equipment is properly stored after use.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of tools and equipment to keep them in good working condition.
  • Follow safety protocols at all times and ensure compliance with company and industry safety standards.
  • Coordinate with other trades on-site to ensure seamless integration of work with other construction tasks.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support the successful completion of projects.

 

Job Requirements

  • Higher Secondary Certificate.
  • Prior experience in similar work would be an asset but not mandatory.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Willingness to work outdoors, indoors, and in all weather conditions.
  • Physical fitness and stamina to lift and carry heavy objects.
  • Basic knowledge of hand and power tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and precision in measurements.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good problem-solving skills and ability to perform minor repairs.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and practices in a construction environment.
