Landscaper -Lead Hand (NOC 22114)
Employer: Landform Inc.
Job Location: Various locations in the Calgary, AB area. Travel expenses paid by employer.
Wage: $29.00-$34.00/hour (based on skills and experience, Salary increases as per company policy)
Employment terms and conditions: Permanent, Full-time, Overtime, Early morning, Morning, Day, Weekend
Weekly hours of work: 40 to 72 in summer and 30 to 40 in winter (weekly hours are weather-dependent)

Experience: 3 years of landscaping experience

Duties:
- Perform tasks unsupervised with efficiency and high quality.
- Plan and construct landscaped environments, which may include trees, shrubberies, lawns, fences, decks, patios, and other landscape structures.
- Estimate costs.
- Water and tend to plants, lawns, and/or gardens.
- Plant and move trees.
- Plant and maintain private and public lawns and gardens.
- Apply various treatments such as pruning, spraying, repairing damaged areas, and injecting with treatment solutions.
- Operate skid steers.
- Understand and follow the Landform Safety Program.
- Be equipped and able to work in all weather conditions.
- Supervise and assist the Foreman in all aspects of site and crew management, such as time tracking, scheduling, safety monitoring, and quality assurance.
- Collaborate with the Foreman to determine staffing, tools, equipment, and material requirements for project completion.
- Occasionally take responsibility for the Foreman role.
- Create and manage lists for trucking, organize deliveries, and ensure accurate site layout and measurements.
- Read, scale, and interpret blueprints, survey stakes, and data, and use specialized equipment such as lasers, Zip Level, and Rover to shoot grades and layout points accurately.
- Maintain the organization and cleanliness of tools and trailers, report broken tools and equipment, and follow flag-out procedures and safety protocols.
- Conduct pre-shift inspections and maintenance on all landscaping equipment (e.g., mowers, tractors, chain saws, snow blowers, etc.) to ensure its safe and efficient operation.
- Proficiently and safely operate snow removal equipment, including ATVs, skid loaders, and other relevant machinery.
- Apply ice melt products and perform snow removal tasks while maintaining a clean and safe job site and ensuring no damage to existing landscapes or properties.
- Demonstrate thorough knowledge of the layout of construction trailers and proficiency in independently operating all small tools.
- Prioritize machine warm-up, inspect attachments for damage, and operate landscaping machinery safely while maintaining cleanliness.
- Securely load equipment considering weight limits and material quantity, check trailer lights and brakes, and remain aware of surroundings.
- Understand equipment limitations, prepare necessary tools and attachments, and know when to hand-dig or avoid proximity to walls and utilities.
- Report any safety concerns and ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.
