Position Description

Position: Landscaping Supervisor

Type of employment: Full-Time; Permanent

Anticipated Start date: As soon as possible

Work Location: Various Locations in Lower Mainland, BC

 

Salary and Benefits 

Salary: $30.00 per hour

Job Responsibilities

  • Supervise landscaping crews onsite, ensuring adherence to project timelines, maintenance schedules, and quality standards.
  • Plan, estimate, and allocate resources, including materials and labor, for individual contracts, ensuring cost-effective and efficient execution.
  • Oversee and participate in the planting, trimming, and maintenance of ornamental trees, shrubs, flowers, lawns, and hardscape elements such as pathways, patios, and retaining walls.
  • Assign tasks to workers, providing clear instructions and ensuring that completed work meets established quality standards.
  • Develop and implement work schedules and procedures, coordinating with landscaping teams to ensure smooth and efficient project flow.
  • Address and resolve any work-related issues, including equipment malfunctions or unforeseen project challenges, maintaining a productive and positive work environment.
  • Regularly evaluate employee performance, providing constructive feedback and guidance for improvement where needed.
  • Train and mentor employees on landscaping techniques, including plant care, lawn maintenance, fertilizer use, and seasonal upkeep, ensuring they have the knowledge and skills to perform their duties effectively.
  • Assist in providing snow removal services during the winter months, as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, promoting safe work practices and maintaining a clean and organized job site.
  • Communicate with clients, providing updates on project progress, addressing concerns, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

 

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in landscaping or horticulture or related field.
  • Completion of High School.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for coordinating with team members and clients.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and ensure efficient project execution.
  • Knowledge of various plants, grasses, fertilizers, and landscape maintenance techniques.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and practices related to landscaping and equipment operation.
  • Problem-solving skills to address work-related issues and make decisions in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work in different weather conditions and provide snow removal services as needed.
  • Basic computer skills for record-keeping and reporting.
