 At “Semi Tech Lube & Repair Ltd.” we specialize in the repair of light to heavy duty trucks. Our technicians are qualified to do electrical repairs, drive train repairs, hydraulic repairs, welding and fabrication, and more. With the increased volume we are looking for a “Heavy equipment Mechanic” to join tour team located in Abbotsford, BC, Canada.

Position: Heavy equipment Mechanic

Terms of employment: Permanent / Full Time

Salary: $45:00/ hr. for 32 hours per week

Education: Secondary (High) School Graduation Certificate or equivalent experience

Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years

Heavy Equipment Mechanic (NOC 72401) will have to perform all of these duties:

• Inspecting trucks and semi trailers for checking engines, brakes, and transmissions for issues.
• Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required.
• Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions by using tool and technology.
• Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems using hand and power tools.
• Order parts and maintain inventory.
• Run tests after repairs to ensure everything is working correctly and meets specifications.
• Ensure machines are safe to operate by testing the repaired equipment by following safety standards.
• Keep maintenance reports and documentation.
• Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work.
• May perform fixing or replacing parts like clutches, brakes, and suspensions.
• Service attachments and working tools.
• Verify and repair emission control systems.
• May perform repairs on heavy trucks.
• Perform routine maintenance, as checking batteries and changing oil to ensure proper vehicle running.
• Adhere to safety standards and procedures.
• Keep accurate records of repairs and maintenance activities.
