Since opening our doors in May 2016, we have strived to be a place where people feel valued, engaged, and where they can express themselves, while facilitating happy and healthy minds through art creation. We provide a variety of programs including art classes, early education, and art events, catering from infant/toddler to school age, supported by an eclectic teaching style enriched with art and image-making. Our classrooms are fun and loving environments where students learn together, fostering mutual respect among peers and teachers alike, ensuring a safe and inspiring place to grow and create.

Currently, we are looking for a passionate & energetic Early Childhood Educator in our centre.

Position: Early Childhood Educator (ECE)

Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent                                                   

Start Date: As soon as possible

Position available: 1

Hourly Wage: $20.00 - $21.00 (Depends on qualification and work experience) plus this position is eligible for BC Government Wage Enhancement Initiative

Working Hours: 30 hours per week

Working Location: 205-800 McBride Blvd, New Westminster, BC V3L 2B8

Benefits: 2 weeks paid vacation per year

Duties

  • Design and create learning programs to meet children’s physical, intellectual, social, cultural, creative and emotional needs
  • Organize and facilitate activities for children, including storytelling, teaching songs, field trips to local attractions and encourage creativity and expression through art, music, dramatic play and other creative activities
  • Maintain and update the individual record of children handled taking note of the program’s positive and negative results
  • Regularly communicate with parents and guardians regarding their children’s development needs and learning process
  • Guide children in developing and practicing healthy eating, dressing, and bathroom routines to establish positive personal behaviours
  • Establish and maintain a safe, secure, and nurturing setting where the health, safety, and well-being of children are protected and prioritized
  • Develop and sustain partnerships with colleagues and external/community partners working with children
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to stay up to date on best practices and advancements in early childhood education

 

Qualification:

  • Completion of a two-to four-year college program in Early Childhood Education or a Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development is required;
  • BC Early Childhood Educator certificate is required;
  • Passionate, creative, intentional & reflective in their work with children is required;
  • Practical English skills to interact with teacher, parents and children is required;
  • Previous work experience as an Early Childhood Educator is beneficial, but not a mandatory requirement.
