Yard Technician

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE:
This position is responsible for assisting in the yard with gathering jobs lists, loading and unloading trucks and daily tasks. As well this position will assist with ensuring water gear is gathered and jobs are completed safely and on time, while following all applicable rules, regulations, and legislation and policies.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Yard organization/ empty job crates / put items in appropriate places/ keep work area clean.
• Loading and unloading equipment from trucks/ trailers
• Gathering items/ equipment for upcoming Jobs or on-going jobs
• Moving of company vehicles in and around the yard
• Maintain communication with yard foreman to ensure additional requests are able to be met in a timely manner
• Load in / loadout paperwork properly filled for outgoing/ in coming equipment
• Report/document all defects and follows up on any required maintenance
• Completely and accurately fills out all required documentation
• Yard duties
• Shop Duties: Assist with shop duties and maintenance activities as needed.
o Assisting Shop Mechanics with checking functionality of centrifugal pumps before shipped out to field
o Assisting Shop Mechanics with testing of pressure gauges on equipment to ensure safety for all employees
• Be available to be on call
• Reporting to yard foreman, as daily task will be assigned

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
• 1 year oilfield related experience, preferred but not necessary.
• Diploma of Petroleum Engineering Technology, considered an asset
• First Aid, whmis tdg
• Class 5 drivers’ license with clean abstract
• Loader and skid steer tickets would be an asset

WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Must live near base of employment or be willing to relocate
• Participation in our pre-employment drug and alcohol screening and health assessment.
• Outdoor environment including extreme weather conditions (hot & cold)
• Extreme driving conditions (snow, ice, mud, off-road)
• Exposure to noise, vibration, weather, dust, chemicals
• Training hours are 7am – 5pm 5 days a week
• Full schedule 10 days on 4 days off rotation once completed training

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This position requires workers to be able to work with weights up to 50lbs in a pushing and/or pulling capacity, as well workers will spend approx. 60% of their time in a standing or walking position.
