Title: Early Childhood Educator (ECE)

Wage: $20-24 per hour

Hours: 37.5 hours per week; Permanent; Full-time

Job Responsibility:

• Create and implement childcare activities and programs in line with our business values
  that support the mental and physical development of up to 12 children, aged from one
  year up to five years old;

• Lead said activities through interactive, educational games including storytelling, art projects, performance, singing songs, and physical activity;

• Be able to assess the mental and physical abilities and interests of the children, and
  discuss the children’s progress as well as address any problems they might have with
  parents and staff;

• Attend staff meetings and be able to discuss in detail each child's strengths, weaknesses, and any problems or potential problems they may have;

• Teach children to develop proper social, eating, and toilet habits;

• Assist the other ECEs in keeping records;

• Order supplies and equipment for the center, and maintain equipment;

• Assist in housekeeping and cooking duties;

• Promote the safety, health, well-being, and security of the children.

Job Requirements:

• Secondary (high) school graduation certificate is required; Completion of an early childhood education assistant certificate program or post-secondary courses in early childhood education is required.
• Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate is required.
• 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in childcare is an asset.
• Candidates will need to pass criminal record check and provide immunization records.
• Emergency childcare first aid and CPR training.
• Attention to detail, combination of sitting, standing, walking, Bending, crouching, kneeling.
• Punctuality, Dependability, Efficient interpersonal skills, Excellent oral communication, Excellent written communication, Flexibility, Interpersonal awareness, Reliability, Team player, Values and ethics.
