Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Development to lead our development team. The ideal candidate will be a visionary leader with a deep understanding of software development, project management, and a passion for driving innovation. As the Director of Development, you will play a crucial role in shaping our technology strategy and ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality software solutions to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leadership & Strategy:
  • Lead and mentor a diverse team of software developers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and implement a strategic vision for the development department aligned with the company’s goals.
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of software projects, ensuring they meet scope, quality, and timelines.
• Project Management:
  • Manage multiple development projects, coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery.
  • Establish project timelines, allocate resources, and monitor progress to meet client and internal deadlines.
  • Implement best practices in software development, including agile methodologies, to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.
• Technical Excellence:
  • Stay abreast of the latest trends and technologies in software development and assess their potential impact on the company’s operations.
  • Provide technical guidance and support in the architecture, design, and implementation of software solutions.
  • Ensure the scalability, security, and performance of our software products and platforms.
• Client Engagement:
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their technical needs and translate them into actionable development plans.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring client satisfaction and repeat business.
• Operational Management:
  • Develop and manage the development budget, optimizing resources while maintaining high standards of quality.
  • Oversee the hiring, training, and professional development of the development team.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in a senior leadership role within software development, preferably as a Director of Development, CTO, or similar.
• Extensive knowledge of software development methodologies, tools, and best practices.
• Strong project management skills with a track record of successfully managing complex software projects from inception to completion.
• Excellent technical proficiency in modern programming languages, software architecture, and cloud computing.
• Exceptional leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a high-performing team.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a strategic mindset.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
