Job Responsibilities

  • Take and prepare customer orders for sandwiches and salads according to menu offerings and individual preferences.
  • Pre-prepare food and food ingredients according to established standards and recipes.
  • Ensure cleanliness and hygiene in the food preparation area, as well as cleaning tables, trays, and seating areas.
  • Provide friendly, efficient, and attentive service to customers in line with Subway's customer service standards.
  • Maintain consistency and minimize waste by following Subway's portion control guidelines.
  • Keep freshness and quality of food products by checking expiration dates and rotating stock.
  • Follow established opening and closing procedures to ensure smooth store operation.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development programs to enhance job knowledge and skills.
  • Collaborate with team members to maintain a positive work environment and contribute to the store's overall success.
  • Proactively identify and report any maintenance or equipment issues to management for prompt resolution.
  • Handle customer transactions, including debit, credit, and cash payments, accurately and efficiently.
  • Maintain refrigerator stock levels and accurately record food usage.
  • Understand and comply with proper food handling, safety, and sanitation standards throughout all stages of food preparation, service, and clean-up.
  • Dispose of food waste and packaging materials properly, following recycling and composting procedures as applicable.
  • Perform any other tasks that may from time to time be requested by the supervisor/manager.

 

Job Requirements

  • No formal education required.
  • No prior experience required; on job training will be provided.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English.
  • Possess a "customer service" attitude.
  • Possess a people friendly, polite, and helpful disposition.
  • Able to work in a fast paced, physically demanding environment.
  • Candidate must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
