Position Title: Cook
Terms of Employment: Full-time, Permanent
Estimated Starting Date: As Soon As Possible
Positions Available: 1
Wage: $17.62 - $18.62 per hour (Depending on Working Experience)
Work Hours: 30 hours per week
Benefit: 4 % Vacation Pay & Tips & 50% employee discount for the meals at Pho Hoa
Responsibility:
â— Cook and prepare authentic Vietnamese dishes including Pho, Vermicelli bowls, Rice plates, and appetizers of Pho Hoa restaurant;
â— Prepare and alter dishes for customers with special dietary needs and allergies;
â— Assists head chef with dish creation and food portion;
â— Maintain inventory of food, supplies, and equipment;
â— Ensure the kitchen and work area are sanitized and safe to work;
â— Ensure food quality and oversee kitchen operation;
â— Assist the head chef with kitchen staff recruitment and training.
Qualification:
â— Completion of secondary school is required;
â— Completion of a three-year apprenticeship program for cooks OR Completion of college or other programs in cooking or food safety OR More than 1 + year of work experience in a Commercial Kitchen would be a good asset, but not a mandatory requirement;
â— Ability to work independently and work in a team;
â— Able to work under pressure and busy kitchen environment;
â— Able to communicate in English;
â— Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
