Featherland Farm is a livestock farm located in Holland Centre, Ontario. We raise premium quality water ducks, muscovy ducks, and specialty birds, like pheasants, and chukars. The ducks and specialty birds are mainly for the Asian markets in Ontario.

$20.00/hour, 30 to 40 hours per week

Key Responsibilities

1. Provide daily care to livestock, including feeding, watering, and monitoring their health and well-being.
2. Safely handle and move livestock within barns, pens, or pastures using appropriate herding techniques and equipment.
3. Monitor animals for signs of illness or injury and promptly report any concerns to the supervisor.
4. Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of livestock facilities, including barns, pens, and equipment. Perform routine cleaning, disinfection, and maintenance tasks to ensure a healthy and sanitary environment for animals and workers.
5. Install, repair, and maintain fences and gates to contain livestock within designated areas and prevent escapes or intrusions by predators.
6. Maintain accurate records of livestock inventory, health status, breeding activities, and other relevant information.
7. Operate and maintain farm equipment and machinery used in livestock management activities.
8. Work collaboratively with other farm workers to achieve production goals and maintain high standards of animal care and welfare.

Qualifications & Skills

1. Prefer to have a secondary school education.
2. Knowledge of basic animal husbandry practices and principles.
3. Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods.
4. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions closely.
5. Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team environment.
6. Basic understanding of equipment operation and maintenance.
