Position: 

Drafting and Design Technologist (NOC 22212)

1 Permanent - Full-time Position

Wage:

$30.00 per hour (full-time position – 40 hours per week)

Location of Work: 

24 Parkside Dr, Barrie, ON L4N 1W6 and

Various locations across the Province of Ontario

Job Description:

• Assist in the development of architectural designs by writing technical reports and preparing design sketches.
• Analyze building codes, by-laws, space requirements, site requirements and other technical documents and reports such as contracts and tender documents.
• Design plans using computer-assisted design (CAD).
• Construct architectural and display models, and 3-D virtual models of architectural designs (Building Information Models, BMI).
• May supervise construction projects and coordinate work done by other technologists, drafters and technicians.
• May assist team in construction administration document management.
• May mentor and direct the work of intern staff.
• Take personal responsibility for fostering a green workplace through sustainable work practices.
• Foster a commitment to external and internal client service.

Job Requirements

     -    Completion of a college program in a related field or equivalent experience.

-    Minimum 3 years of experience.

Skills

-          Basic hand and CAD drafting skills.

-          Skillful in AutoCAD, Revit, Lumion and Enscape.

-          Project management - Knowledge and experience of project management techniques to ensure successful delivery of projects.

-          Communication skills - Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, clients, and other professionals.

-          Organizational skills - Proficiency in organizing information, tasks, and projects.

-          Design skills - Expertise in creating aesthetically pleasing designs.

-          Problem-solving - Skilled in troubleshooting and resolving difficult design issues.

-          Time management - Capable of prioritizing work to meet tight deadlines.
