Position:          Ethnic Cook (NOC 63200)

Salary:              $19 per hour / full-time position (40 hours per week)

Job Duties:

ﾃでｸ  Prepare a full assortment of Indian Snacks, Sweets and traditional Curries in accordance with the religious and devotional food laws and practices of the Swaminarayan denomination of the Hindu faith,

ﾃでｸ  Ensure the food preparation areas follow religious, safety and sanitary food handling practices.

ﾃでｸ  Consult with supervisory staff to plan menus, taking into consideration factors such as costs, special religious event needs, special fasting days and religious festivals.

ﾃでｸ  Fully adhere and comply to Health and Safety Standards and hygiene requirements in the Kitchen facility

ﾃでｸ  Estimate expected food consumption; then requisition or purchase supplies, or support in procurement of the raw materials

ﾃでｸ  Work collaboratively in team environment with local volunteers and staff

Job Requirements:

ﾃでｸ  Minimum 3 years of experience

ﾃでｸ  Knowledgeable and understand the religious and devotional food laws and practices of the Swaminarayan denomination of the Hindu faith

ﾃでｸ  Must be able to work co-genially and respect with other team members and volunteers

ﾃでｸ  Must be able to multi-task and work in a team environment

ﾃでｸ  Must be available to work afternoons, evenings and weekends
