Responsibilities
Tasks
- Plan, organize and supervise all aspects of inventory control, including receiving, storing, counting, and issuing inventory items.
- Co-ordinate, assign and review work of team members to ensure they understand their responsibilities and perform their duties effectively.
- Establish work schedules and procedures of delivery drivers.
- Co-ordinate activities with other work units or departments.
- Prepare and submit reports, investigating discrepancies and implement corrective actions to address any issues.
- Resolve work problems, provide technical advice and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality.
- Implement and monitor stock rotation policies, such as First In, First Out (FIFO), to minimize waste and ensure older inventory items are used before newer ones.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the handling and storage of inventory items.
- Train workers in duties and policies and conduct regular performance reviews.
- Arrange training for staff to ensure a high level of customer service and satisfaction.
- Requisition or order materials, equipment and supplies to ensure smooth functioning of the supply chain and the overall success of the organization.
