Food and Beverage Server – (NOC 65200)

Employer: Twin Cities Hotel and Cafe

Job Location: 105 Morrison Road, Longview, AB, T0L 1H0

Vacancies: 4

Wage: $17.00 to $19.00/hour (Salary increases as per Company policy)

Benefits: Half-price meals during shifts. Gratuities after completing the training period.

Hours: 30-50 hours per week depending on the season. Busy season is May through September; off-season is October through April

Employment terms and conditions: Permanent, Full-Time, Overtime, Night, Evening, Weekend, Shift

Anticipated start date: As soon as possible

Job requirements:

Language: English

Education: Not required

Experience: No experience needed

Certification: Must be willing and able to get a ProServe certificate before commencing employment

Work Setting: Restaurant, Rural

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Overtime required, physically demanding, Standing for extended periods, Work under pressure

Duties:

1. Take orders and relay them to kitchen and bar staff
2. Serve food and beverages to customers
3. Describe menu items including daily specials for customers
4. Make recommendations and answer questions regarding food and beverages
5. Advise on menu selections
6. Assist clients/guests with special needs
7. Mix and serve alcoholic beverages
8. Present bills to customers and accept payment
9. Address customers’ complaints and concerns
10. Provide customer service
11. Clear and clean tables, trays, and chairs
12. Perform general cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping floors, and cleaning bathrooms.
13. Assist other servers with their tables during busy times.
14. Assist the cooks with food preparation or washing dishes.
