Position Name: Field Inspector – Project Quality Control

Department: Transmission

Working Conditions: Onsite. Travel Required

Job Overview

As a Field Quality Control Inspector in the Transmission division, you will be responsible for ensuring our deliverables meet quality standards and customer specifications during and following the powerline construction process. You will work closely with the trades and the project team to ensure these deliverables are up to date and on time.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee quality control efforts, including the development and implementation of quality control plans and processes
  • Perform inspections on work to ensure all requirements are being met and identify areas of improvement
  • Read and understand technical drawings and specifications to enforce on construction of assets
  • Provide guidance and training on company quality procedures and processes
  • Ensure compliance with established scope of work and design criteria
  • Understand the operations and objectives of the team or department and the services it provides
  • Undertake work in accordance with the steps, timelines, and budgets set out in one or more project plans. Escalates any issues that could interfere with the completion of project work in a timely and cost-effective manner
  • Assist with ground disturbance protocols
  • Assist with landowner relations
  • Attend departmental meetings, including crew tailboards while on job sites
  • Additional duties as required

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Post secondary Training with CET background is preferred
  • Experience interpreting complex designs and blueprints
  • Experience in the High Voltage construction industry is an asset
  • ISO 9001 experience is an asset
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with employees at all levels of the company
  • Self-starter with effective problem-solving skills
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as required
