Wage: $21.70 per hour
Expected start date: As soon as possible
Work location: 30 Marseilles Close, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R2P 2X8 and need to drive truck across various locations in Canada and America
Qualifications
- Class 1 driver's license or equivalent
- Air brake endorsement
- Experience as long-haul truck driver would be an asset
- Functional English
- Clean Driver's abstract
- Follow all rules and regulations of the road, including speed limits and traffic laws
- Monitor vehicle performance as well as keep the vehicle clean
Job Duties
- Operate and drive Tractor-Trailor to transport goods and materials over long distances.
- Verify that materials being transported do not exceed weight restrictions and have been loaded correctly in accordance with safety requirements.
- Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil and perform pre and post trip inspections and obtain required documentation to transport goods.
- Monitor vehicle performance and mechanical fitness.
- Promptly report any accidents, injuries, or mechanical faults to management.
- Record rest periods, distance travelled and fuel consumption.
- Communicate with supervisor/dispatcher and customers to organize routing and delivery schedules
- Comply with all safety rules and regulations
